2025 Steel Smash Side Match
Harvard Sportsmen’s Club, Harvard, MA
The weather? A typical early spring weekend in New England—crisp mornings in the high 20s°F, afternoons warming up to the low 50s°F, and rain throughout. While the breath of winter still lingered in the morning air, it didn’t stop the energy, competition, and camaraderie that define events like this. Competitors bundled in layers, coffee in hand, ready to test their skill and share a laugh with friends old and new.
The 2025 Steel Smash drew shooting enthusiasts from across the region, uniting a passionate group for a weekend of fast-paced stages and steel-ringing action. Our side stage offered a unique challenge, designed to keep even the most experienced shooters on their toes—mixing speed, accuracy, and just enough difficulty to keep it fun.
But beyond the clang of steel targets, this event carried a deeper purpose. In collaboration with the Harvard Steel Smashers, we furthered our mission to eliminate veteran suicide by fostering a supportive network. Aiming for Zero harnesses the competitive shooting community to engage, educate, and empower—not only raising funds but creating meaningful connections for veterans and their families.
Through your participation, donations, and presence, we took real steps toward building camaraderie, supporting mental health, and honoring the service of those who’ve worn the uniform. Every round fired and every hand shaken added to that mission.
Thank you to all the sponsors, shooters, volunteers, organizers, and spectators who made this weekend unforgettable. You braved the cold and rain, showed up big, and proved once again what this community is all about.
Special thanks to Ramon Algarin Jr. from Harvard Steel Smashers for extending the invitation for us to be part of the 2025 Steel Smash and to Karl McKeever from GT Targets for making trip from Pennsylvania to supply all the targets for the side match.
