Dunbarton, NH
On the rainy, windswept weekend of May 9–11, 2025, dedicated competitors, volunteers, veterans, and supporters came together for the Aiming For Zero Falling Steel 2025: Spring Edition in Dunbarton, NH. Despite the damp and chilly weather, the turnout and enthusiasm from the community demonstrated a powerful commitment to our mission—to eliminate veteran suicide by fostering connection, compassion, and community.
This three-day competitive shooting event wasn’t just about scores and steel—it was a celebration of resilience, camaraderie, and shared purpose. We are deeply grateful to every person who showed up, geared up, and stood strong with us through the wind and rain.
Event Highlights
- Challenging Conditions, Unshakable Spirit: Even with persistent rain and muddy footing, competitors upheld the highest standards of safety and sportsmanship across six demanding stages. Each flight began with a mandatory safety brief, ensuring every participant stayed informed and ready. The weather never stood a chance against the determination of our community.
- Side Match & Prizes: Our side match, sponsored and staffed by GT Targets, brought out the competitive fire in attendees and offered exciting prizes for speedy sharpshooters. It was a chance to have fun, push limits, and support a great cause.
- Raffle & Community Gathering: The energy inside the registration area was electric as attendees browsed our incredible raffle tables. From firearms and tactical gear to gift certificates, the raffle generated generous support and some thrilled winners. Drawings were held Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM — with results posted immediately afterwa
Divisions & Competition
Competitors showcased their talents in a variety of divisions, including Open Auto, Limited Auto, Stock Auto, PCC, Open Revolver, and Stock Revolver. The competition was intense, but what shone even brighter was the mutual respect and encouragement shown between shooters.
Note: This was a lost brass match, and competitors supported the event by helping reset stages after each run—an example of how this community continues to show up for each other.
Fundraising & Impact
Funds Raised: We are proud to report that our combined efforts—through registration, donations, and raffles—generated meaningful funds that will directly support veteran-focused mental health services and peer support programs.
Where the Funds Go: All proceeds help expand Aiming For Zero’s outreach efforts, including suicide prevention programs, community events, and engagement efforts designed to ensure no veteran feels isolated or forgotten.
Our Staff & Volunteers: The Heart of the Event
We extend heartfelt thanks to the selfless staff who set up stages, ran squads, and kept the event running smoothly. Your efforts—especially considering the challenging weather—were the backbone of this match.
