Partnership & Progress
At Aiming For Zero, we believe that veterans thrive when they have access to strong communities, meaningful connections, and the resources needed to navigate life's challenges after military service. Supporting organizations that create those opportunities is a critical part of our mission to prevent veteran suicide through camaraderie, connection, and community.
That is why we are proud to announce a $10,000 donation to the Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus, a first-of-its-kind resource in New Hampshire dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, first responders, and their families. The donation was presented during the recent Aiming For Zero Falling Steel Match hosted at the SIG SAUER Academy, where participants, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters gathered to celebrate competition, fellowship, and a shared commitment to those who have served.
A Place to Heal, Connect, and Thrive
Located on a 15-acre campus in Franklin, New Hampshire, the Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus was created to serve as a comprehensive hub where veterans and their families can access housing, support services, recreational opportunities, and community engagement all in one location. Designed to foster healing, resilience, and connection, the campus represents a significant investment in the long-term well-being of New Hampshire's military community.
The vision behind the campus recognizes a reality many veterans face after service: the need for affordable housing, access to support services, opportunities for recreation, and a community that understands the unique experiences of military life. By bringing these resources together, the campus helps eliminate barriers and creates an environment where veterans can build meaningful relationships and find the support they need.
Programs and Services That Make a Difference
The Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus offers a wide range of programs and services designed to support veterans and their families throughout their journey.
Key components of the campus include:
- Affordable Housing for veterans, military members, and their families, providing stable and supportive living environments.
- A Hub of Veteran Services, bringing multiple veteran-serving organizations together to offer coordinated care and support.
- The Bernadine Herron Center, which provides meeting space, retreat accommodations, training facilities, and opportunities for community engagement.
- Outdoor and Therapeutic Recreation Programs, including access to trails, the Merrimack River, and planned equine, canine, and challenge-course activities designed to promote wellness and personal growth.
- Care Coordination and Support Services through Easterseals NH and Veterans Count, helping veterans and families access resources, navigate challenges, and overcome unexpected hardships.
These services work together to address many of the factors that can contribute to isolation and disconnection while promoting physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Advancing a Shared Mission
The work being done at the Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Campus aligns closely with Aiming For Zero's belief that connection saves lives.
Veterans often face challenges that extend beyond their military service, including transitions to civilian life, housing insecurity, mental health concerns, and the loss of the camaraderie that military service provides. The Military & Veterans Campus creates opportunities for veterans and their families to reconnect with a supportive community while accessing the resources necessary to build healthy, fulfilling lives.
By investing in organizations that bring people together and provide comprehensive support, we can help strengthen protective factors that reduce isolation and foster resilience throughout the veteran community.
